Things.

#1 - College

The reason for the lack of blog posts. But, I really do love being back with all the Galway crew and quite like hitting the books so far this year. Can't believe that's the truth, but alas! Walks, waitress work, Arthur's Day & other typical Galway nights out have provided some great stress relief.

#2 - Leeds

I visited Helen and Rose for a week over Halloween. After the constant talk of Leeds in Málaga last year, I had to witness it myself. It was really nice to be in another very student orientated city, like Galway, but on a larger scale. All the Leeds lads and lassies were the loveliest too and made me feel right at home. An afternoon drinking G&T's, that leather chair and ginger beer nights were highlights.

#3 - Disclosure

By some miracle, I got a free ticket to see Disclosure in Galway in November with Heineken Live Project. They were amazing, as expected.

#4 - Dublin

Last week I chanced my arm in enquiring about how to be in the audience of Republic of Telly. I watched the show religiously whilst I was in Spain to get my dose of good Irish humour. And sure enough after a few emails, the girls and I were in Dublin on the way to RTE. I can't remember the last time I laughed for a full hour and a half so I'm viewing the trip as a success.

#5 - The Soundtrack

Lovers in The Parking Lot - Solange

The Fall - Rhye

Wasting My Young Years - London Grammar

Move - Little Mix

Help Me Lose My Mind - Disclosure ft. London Grammar

More to come very soon,

sheworefringe

Hello there, I'm back! For the past few months, I've been eager to change the name of this wee blog. So I've decided to call it *drumroll*...sheworefringe. Basically, I can clearly remember one of the first times I got to dress myself. I remember picking out a fringe top and thinking I looked so badass. Mother objected, to my dismay. I've always had a bit of a fringe going on too (↓). How blonde was I?

Happy to be back and shall update soon!

La Verdadera Experiencia Española

This past Sunday us girls took a trip out to Laura's farm in Alhaurín de la Torre. We were joined by Rose's brother, Joe, and his new fiancée , Laura. The night before they had come out with us for a ton of wine and salty fish which was absolutely delish. Because of this fact we were a bit behind schedule on Sunday morning, but we arrived at Laura's farm to the blazing early afternoon sun. The usual Spanish kisses were given out by her parents and the cutest Spanish old lady I have ever met, Laura's abuela. The dogs welcomed us too. There was even one called Kira! So we bonded, naturally. Laura's house was so gorgeous and rustic and filled with hilariously cute pictures of her in a flamenco dress. Outside we tucked into some bread and cheese and Laura's Mom soon brought out the biggest paella I had ever seen. She even wrote ERASMUS across the pan in red peppers. We swooned and awed and pictures were taken. After the meal, the newly engaged left us and we were given a tour of the farm. It was certainly different to the farms my parents came from. There was no muck but dust instead. The flies were having a field day and there was more orange trees than blackberry bushes. My God do I love the smell of orange trees. The afternoon was spent chatting and drinking English tea in the shade of a large tree. Laura's Dad, Antonio, keeps a lot of horses so we got to ride one. After all of our turns on the gorgeous horse and an insane amount of pictures were taken we headed back into the town of Alhaurín de la Torre. Another stop in Laura's townhouse and bakery goodies were consumed. We headed home when we were all full of noms and I felt great. The countryside is so quiet and peaceful compared to our home on the main street in Malaga centre. Two weeks today and I shall be back in Moneymore! Until then, I'll have an update on our trip to Granada for our last weekend in Spain and a very soppy goodbye post. Oh deary me, how time flies.

Happy June!

Hello there June, nice to see you in all you summery glory.

29th of May

To celebrate Rose's 21st, we took a day trip to El Chorro. It's one of the most famous rock climbing centres in Spain because of the gorge located there. Lined up like little ants, we hiked up the mountain and found a spot to pop some bottles of cava and munch on a few treats. We were joined by a snake too! A few hours later on our way down we snuck into a hostel to use their pool for a quick dip. Rebels. Back in Málaga, we ended the day with gifts and the realization that we had all gotten a little too sunburnt. Lovely.

1st of June

There was a hippy party to attend to and some people watching in Merced with a falafel to finish. Lovely.

3rd of June

Rose, Beth (Rose's visiting best bud who is uber cool), Hagan, Dillon, Rob and I took a trip to the waterpark in Torremolinos. The weather at the minute is perfect for walking around half naked, even eating lunch half naked. We tackled the ''Boomerang'' and ''The Cones'' along with plenty of larfs on the ''Rapids'' (which weren't so rapid). Freckles, fitness and fun :) That evening, I made my very first homemade garlic bread while Beth cooked up a gorgeous spaghetti bolognese. Lovely.

4th of June

Watched the latest ''Game of Thrones''. Not so lovely. Got a retweet from The Viper though, pretty lovelaay layk.

5th of June

Rose, Beth and I had a great rooftop bar evening followed by some McDonalds for Beth's last night in Málaga. Highlight of the night was gluten free Beth having a gluten free Big Mac, her first Big Mac in years. There was beer too. Lovely.

That's all my antics from the past week or so. I hope you're well and happy and feeling lovely.

Bye now,

Ciara
